Construction Training
Frequently Asked Questions

How can I sign up for a dust control class?

We do not offer Dust Control Classes. This is run through the Clark County Health District. Please contact their office at (702) 455-1524.

Can I sign up for classes over the phone?

No. Our applications are time sensitive. Please visit the training center for an application for training.

How long does it take to get into a class?

It all depends on how many people we must call to fill a class and how often we hold the class. If a class holds 10 students, it may take 50 calls to get 10 students enrolled. Be patient. We have many individuals on our training lists. Training does not happen right away. We have four instructors who teach 30 different classes in state and out of state.

Do you have night classes?

Yes. Forklift and 10 hr OSHA Construction classes are available at night. All other classes are done during the day due to lighting conditions and training time.

Do you offer classes on the weekend?

Yes. Forklift, 10 hr OSHA Construction and 8 hr Refreshers are available on Saturdays.

How do I obtain CDL endorsements?

All endorsements can be taken through DMV. We do offer classes for passenger endorsement only. Practice tests for all other endorsements are available at the training center.

How do I know where I stand on the training list?

You may call our training center Monday-Friday 7am-4pm and we will be happy to let you know.

How do I become eligible for training?

If you are eligible for a dispatch at the union hall or work for a contributory employer, you are eligible for training. You become ineligible when you are ineligible to receive a dispatch from the union hall.

How does work look? Is there a lot of work available?

This is the training center only. Please contact dispatch at the local union hall for questions regarding work at (702) 453-6310.
